And The Stupid Goes On

And then there’s this

because the issue is not which side is bringing the stupid, but the attempts by the stupid to shut other people up.

Sigh.

  1. This is why the Great Sort–with Americans living with like-minded Americans–is so tragic politically. If only we could move Harvard and Columbia to Oklahoma, we could “secede” the lot of them–or just wait for the meteor strike. A “Harold,” indeed. Sigh.

Incidentally, Spellcheck won’t let me mock that last link. It keeps fixing the misspellings.

  2. I noticed that the picture accompanying the article shows two of the people holding the letters looking down at them. I wonder if they corrected the spelling?

I’m gradually coming to the conclusion that there are two theories of evolution. A scientific one used by professional biologists and one which is the central dogma of the High Church of Militant Atheism.

  3. I checked some of the comments and one called it a fake news site. After reading some of the other “stories” I have to agree that its fake.

  4. Just goes to show how hard it is to parody religious beliefs, or behavior motivated by religious beliefs. There is (well almost) nothing you can think of so crazy that somebody or somebodies somewhere haven’t, don’t, or won’t someday believe it.

There are secessionist movements active. There are right wing religious wackadoodles in a tizzy over “Cosmos”. The two of them coming together just isn’t much of a stretch.

  5. But YOU are perfectly safe from parody, Michael. I can’t come up with a leftist notion so wacko it’s not believed and taught by tenured professors in what were once prestigious universities.

One of the silliest notions of my lifetime has been the belief that when you added fruitcakes to a faculty you raised their credibility instead of reducing the school’s.
